Solved: Chrome Not Syncing Passwords
If you have issues with Chrome not syncing your saved passwords and none of the standard checklist items you found on the internet are working for you,
here’s is a simple and easy solution:
Click on 3 dots on your Chrome window (upper right corner) and select Settings, you’ll see the “You and Google” section, like the one below:
Now click on the “Turn off” button (upper right corner), a popup dialog will appear:
Now, this is a very important step: before you do anything else, make sure you check the “Clear bookmarks, history, passwords, and more from this device” checkbox, like this:
Click on the “Turn off” button (lower right corner).
This will clear any corrupt data which might have been preventing proper synchronization thus far. Once the synchronization is turned off, you can go once more to 3 dots > Settings and turn it back on. Log in to your Google account and in a couple of minutes (depending on your internet speed), everything shall work seamlessly.
- Your bookmarks
- Passwords
- Apps
- Extensions
- History
- Settings etc.
Will be synchronized and available to you.
In order to make sure you’re syncing everything you need, please, go to chrome://settings/syncSetup/advanced or click on 3 dots on your Chrome window (upper right corner) again, inside the “You and Google” section, click on the “Sync and Google services” item:
then enable or disable the items of your choice:
